Delhi : Team India is ready for the two-Test series between India and Bangladesh starting on September 19. After a break of more than a month, playing against Bangladesh can be challenging for Team India. On this, India’s great cricketer Sunil Gavaskar has warned Rohit Sharma’s team. Gavaskar has advised Rohit Sharma and his team not to take Bangladesh lightly.
Two years ago, Bangladesh gave a tough challenge to India in the test match played in Dhaka, however, Shreyas Iyer and R Ashwin together gave India victory. Now there have been many changes in the Bangladesh team and recently it has won the title by defeating Pakistan in its home.
Bangladesh can do a reversal
Gavaskar wrote in his column in Mid-Day that Bangladesh has proved how strong they are by defeating Pakistan. Two years ago India toured Bangladesh, and even then Bangladesh gave India a tough fight. Now, after winning the Test series against Pakistan, Bangladesh’s morale is very high and they want to defeat India as well.
Gavaskar further said that Bangladesh has many good players and the young cricketers have also impressed. These players are not afraid of the opposing team and now no team will take them lightly. Bangladesh has defeated Pakistan 2-0 in the Test series, which makes this series even more interesting to watch.
The Indian team has to play a total of 10 Test matches in the next few months. This includes two Tests against Bangladesh, three Tests against New Zealand in India and then a tour of Australia for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, where five Test matches will be played. The Indian team is at the top of the ICC World Test Championship 2023-25 points table, but to make it to the final, it will have to win as many matches as possible in the remaining matches.
