Delhi : Former Pakistan cricket team captain Younis Khan has reprimanded star batsman and captain Babar Azam and advised him to learn from Team India legend Virat Kohli. 46-year-old Younis Khan said during a program, “Why was Babar Azam made the captain of Pakistan? Because at that time he was the best batsman in the team. I was present there myself at the time of that decision. Babar has achieved a lot at a very young age, but he has to understand what he wants to achieve in the future.”
Younis Khan further said, “Captaincy is a small thing. Work in the interest of the team and raise your performance. You should remember that you will not get a chance to play for Pakistan. Use social media less and focus on your performance instead of making more statements. Improve your fitness and answer people through your performance with the bat.”
Babar needs to learn from Virat
2009 T20 World Cup winning captain Younis Khan has advised Babar Azam to take inspiration from Virat Kohli. He said, “Look at Virat Kohli. He left the captaincy on his own will and is now performing brilliantly all over the world. He is constantly making records and defeating people. His approach makes it clear that playing for the country should be a priority.”
Younis Khan also said, “Captaincy is a small thing. But if you win a match for your country, it is a big thing.”
