Second century at Chepauk
This is Ashwin’s second consecutive century at Chennai’s Chepauk Stadium. Earlier, he had also scored a century in the second innings of the Test played against England on the same ground in 2021. First century against Bangladesh
Ashwin, who made his Test debut for India in 2011, has scored his first century against Bangladesh. Earlier, four of his 5 centuries came against the West Indies, while one century was against England on the same ground. Ashwin Jadeja took over the innings
The Indian team’s score was 144 runs for 6 wickets at one point, and it seemed difficult to score even 200 runs from here. Bangladesh bowlers clearly dominated the match. In this situation, Ravichandran Ashwin along with Ravindra Jadeja took charge of the innings. Both of them first set themselves and attacked the bowlers aggressively in the third session. Ashwin completed his half-century in 58 balls. In the last session of the day, India’s run rate remained above 5.
